System Manufacturing Corporations Platinum 42™ family of equipment enclosures incorporate a design which provides a large “U pocket” (distance between front and rear mounting rails) with an unobstructed path for cable management and server air flow, using the ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIES ASSOCIATION (EIA) 19“ enclosure standards. The Platinum 42™ family provides (2) height enclosures, 42U (79” high) and 21U (42” high) of server space. Enclosures come in (2) widths 24” and 29” wide. Features: Convenience • A 79” installation height allows Platinum 42 to fit through standard doors without tilting. • Optional 180° external hinges allow the door to swing out of the way in narrow aisle applications. • Labeled U positions on rack mounting rails simplify the installation of rack mounted devices. • Front-to-rear rails labeled in inches make adjustment simple. • 6” deep corner posts maximize power and cable management, while allowing easy access from the interior. • Units ship fully assembled, reducing installation time. • Field changeable door inserts or optional split doors meet space and cooling requirements
