Q. What does "VESA" mean?
A. VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association) is a trade association of manufacturers of electronics products. The association sets industry-wide interface standards and so it governs the mounting systems used for flat panel displays. VESA approves two standard mounting configurations, 75mm and 100mm. Mainline’s products comply with both configurations. Check your monitor to see if it’s VESA-compliant
Further, the VESA® FDMI™ Standard defines mounting interfaces, hole patterns and associated cable/power supply locations for LCD monitors, plasma displays and other flat panel devices. Flat Panel Mounting Solutions are designed to fit this standard to make monitor attachment quick and easy.
Oftentimes a monitor's hole pattern is revealed by removing its base (refer to your monitor's manual for details). Contact Mainline Computer Products at 800-686-5312 to verify your monitor is VESA FDMI compliant.
VESA MIS-D, 100/75, C compliant monitors are equipped with either a 100 x 100 mm or 75 x 75 mm mounting hole pattern. Mouniting Solutions attach directly to these monitors. Note: This is the most common interface.
VESA MIS-E, C compliant monitors are equipped with a 200 x 100 mm mounting hole pattern. Larger LCD monitors may use this interface. Ergotron HD45 Arms and HD Pivots attach to these monitors using the 200 x 100 mm Adapter Plate Kit (ordered separately). FX75 and FXT75 will attach directly to this interface.
Standard Interfaces
VESA MIS-F, C compliant monitors have varied hole patterns that are spaced in 200 mm increments (e.g., 400 x 200 mm and 600 x 400 mm are examples of VESA MIS-F compliant configurations). Larger plasma displays could follow this standard.
Custom Adapter Interface Bracket
If your monitor does not include a VESA FDMI Standard mounting hole pattern, a separately-ordered custom adapter interface bracket may be available. Contact the monitor manufacturer to see if they have this option available. If it is not available from the monitor manufacturer, Mainline has a number of custom brackets to interface with existing flat panel monitors.
